Our homes are located in quiet, residential neighborhoods in North Scottsdale, close to local shops, parks, senior and community centers as well as Mayo and both Scottsdale Shea and Thompson Peak hospitals.
We have beautiful grounds for our residents to enjoy. We believe that people thrive in bright, warm environments where they feel safe and loved.
We’ve filled our homes with beautiful furnishings, lots of color, and most importantly, caregivers who are some of the warmest, most attentive and family oriented people we know; people who we wouldn’t hesitate to entrust the care of our parents to when the time is right. In fact, we cared for Jana’s father at Casa Buenavante for a year before his passing, & currently we are caring for Peter’s mom at North Scottsdale Place.

We opened Casa Buenavante in 2004 and as soon as we saw it, we knew it would be the perfect senior group home. It has a huge backyard to roam around in and very large rooms for our residents and their families to spread out. Our goal here, as in all of our senior adult homes is that you and your loved one feel completely at home while you’re with us, so decorate that bedroom in whatever way you think will make mom or dad feel comfortable. If you prefer, we’ll do the decorating for you.
Villa at Sweetwater
While our other three locations typically have a nice mix of male & female residents, the Villa became our “ladies only” assisted living home a few years ago, simply because that’s what the residents really wanted, so we figured out a way to accommodate them.
A typical day at the Villa, and all Colten Adult Care Homes for that matter, includes a visit from Karen our activities coordinator, who loves to do things as a group as well as interact one on one with our residents. She also loves birthday & holiday celebrations!
Jana fell in love with Sweetwater Place right away because it was different from most of the homes in Arizona and reminded her so much of her childhood growing up in the Midwest. You just don’t often see a traditional brick home fronted by a huge front lawn and circle driveway in Scottsdale.
We have no set visiting hours, so come to visit whenever you can; and when you do, you’ll always be greeted by Dutchess, the house pooch and Vice President of pet therapy at Colten Adult Care!
North Scottsdale Place
North Scottsdale Place is very special to us because it was our family home before we converted it into our first assisted living residence in 1998.
Our formal dining room has been turned into a resident’s bedroom, but there is still plenty of room to eat! Next time you come to visit, join us for a meal. In all our homes we cook good old American cuisine and we always tailor our menus to our residents’ tastes.
